Start with capacity, not just demand

Growth is only valuable if you can deliver the work well. Before generating more enquiries, check whether you have the people, systems and cash flow to fulfil extra orders. Decide which services are most profitable and which customers are the best fit.

Choose one customer segment

A narrow target makes marketing and sales more effective. Identify a segment with a clear need and an affordable route to reach decision-makers. Test your message with a small number of prospects before spending heavily on advertising.

Create a repeatable sales process

Write down the steps from first contact to signed agreement: enquiry, qualification, discovery, proposal, follow-up and onboarding. Give each step an owner and a target response time. This reduces lost opportunities as volume increases.

Use your website to capture enquiries

A good website answers common questions, demonstrates the services you provide and offers a simple way to get in touch. Keep forms short and test them regularly. A website does not create demand on its own, but it can help turn existing interest into conversations.

Decide what to outsource

Outsourcing can help with prospect research, outreach, appointment setting or a defined part of the sales cycle. Compare the cost against hiring and training internally. Ask providers how leads are qualified, how performance is reported and who controls customer data.

Track a few useful numbers

Review qualified enquiries, meetings booked, proposals sent, sales won and customer retention. Measure both activity and outcomes. If meetings increase but revenue does not, investigate qualification, pricing or closing rather than simply increasing volume.
